Dr. Jane S. Wrinch

Dr. Jane S. WrinchDr. Wrinch graduated in 1992, obtaining her DMD degree from the faculty of dentistry at the University of British Columbia. After working a short time in northern British Columbia, she was selected to complete a multi-disciplinary hospital residency at the Montreal General Hospital through McGill University. This residency provided her with advanced training in all the specialties of dentistry including oral surgery, anesthesia, and treatment of medically compromised patients. Dr. Wrinch then moved to Ottawa, working first as an associate dentist while holding staff positions at the Ottawa Civic and Queensway Carleton Hospitals. While there, she chaired the startup of a hospital based geriatric specialty clinic and owned her own practice.

Dr. Wrinch is a member of the Victoria and District Dental Society, the BC Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, the Saanich RV Tucker Gold Study Club, the American Association of Gold Foil Operators, the Canadian Association of Restorative Dentists and Prosthodontists, and the Canadian Dental Association. Dr. Wrinch has also held membership in the Advanced Orthodontics Study Club at UBC (six years). She was on staff at the Victoria General and Royal Jubilee Hospitals, and is a fourth year dental student mentor for the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC. Currently, she is the Director for the Academy of RV Tucker Study Clubs Institute in Vancouver, BC. In January 2000, Dr. Wrinch opened her private practice in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre. She enjoys the challenge of providing quality conservative family dentistry in a comfortable and friendly environment.

Dr. Wrinch is an avid gardener. She and her husband James are still heavily involved with the raising of their six children. They all enjoy travelling, hiking, skiing,  small scale farming, and numerous other outdoor activities.

Dr. Eha Onno

Dr. Eha OnnoDr. Eha Onno received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in pharmacology from UBC in 1988. She was awarded her DMD degree from UBC in 1992. She has owned a private dental practice, run a mobile dental practice providing care to long-term care facilities, and worked at UBC Hospital for seven years. For 15 years, she has enjoyed working at the George Derby Centre, with a majority of the residents being war veterans.

Dr. Onno has served on committees of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC and the University Hospital (later call UBC Hospital). She has been a member of the Canadian Dental Association since 1992, the BC Dental Association, the Vancouver and District Dental Society, the UBC-Providence Health Care Geriatric Dentistry Program, and the Boundary Prosthetic Study Club. Dr. Onno's public service has included interviewing for UBC's Faculty of Dentistry Admissions Committee, working for many years with the North Shore Association for the Physically Handicapped, charity fund-raising, and assisting with establishing dental programs for long-term care facilities.

Outside her professional activities, Dr. Onno enjoys life on Pender Island with her partner Lisa, and their dog, Bentley. She has lifelong passions for painting, photography, and reading. She also partakes in kayaking, hiking and swimming. She speaks Estonian and is always trying to learn more Spanish.

Hillary (Certified Dental Assistant)

Born and raised in Victoria, Hillary is a 2018 graduate from the Camosun College Dental Assistant Program. She loves working with children and assisting with oral surgery, and reports that she has had an interest in the dental field since she was very young. In her free time, Hillary loves going to beaches and getting outdoors to explore Vancouver Island. She loves being active and has a passion for yoga, which she attends regularly. Hillary’s other passion is her two cats, Dragon and Bucket. We are appreciative of Hillary’s calm and compassionate nature. She has been a valuable addition to our dental team.

Madison (Certified Dental Assistant)

MadisonMadison comes to us from the Kootenays, where she graduated from the dental assisting program at the College of the Rockies (Cranbrook, BC) in May 2014. Born and raised in Nelson, BC, Madison enjoys outdoor pursuits such as climbing, skiing, hiking, kayaking and photography. Madison's true passion is equestrian three-day eventing. This is a triathlon-like equestrian event, which involves dressage, showing jumping and cross country. Madison's enthusiastic personality and warm manner is a welcome addition to our clinical team. In September 2017, Madison started to attend the University of Victoria. She now works with us periodically.

Rebecca (Certified Dental Assistant)

RebeccaRebecca graduated from Camosun College as a certified dental assistant in June 2014. Raised in Kitimat, a small northern BC town in the heart of bear country, Rebecca loves to spend her free time outdoors. She loves camping, kayaking, hiking and volunteer cleaning up beaches with her boyfriend's photography company. Her newest passion has been to train her two cats to become outdoor adventure cats. Rebecca's enthusiasm and attention to detail has been most welcomed and appreciated by Dogwood's team and our patients. Her previous experience working in oral surgery as well as general dentistry has been a huge asset to our practice. You may get the pleasure of experiencing Rebecca's multi-talents, as she now works on Fridays at the front reception desk.

Annie (Registered Dental Hygienist)

Annie completed her Dental Hygiene program at the CEGEP de l'Outaouais in 2000 and worked as a dental hygienist in Quebec for five years. In 2005 she moved to Victoria to be with her partner Christian. Annie is fluent in English, French and has been learning Japanese in her spare time. She loves to travel, particularly to Japan where she has been several times already, and is a fan of animes and mangas (forms of Japanese cartoons). Annie loves to tease her family and friends back home, by posting photos of the beautiful flowers in Victoria, when it is still snowing in Quebec. As a hygienist, Annie's priority is to make her patients feel comfortable. She likes to provide education on oral health and preventive care, while having fun with them. Annie really enjoys interacting with her patients and learning about their lives outside the office. We are pleased to have Annie on our dental team. Her strong skills and patient care are a huge asset to our dental hygiene team.

Janet (Registered Dental Hygienist)

JanetJanet is a 1991 graduate of the Vancouver Community College dental hygiene program in Vancouver. With over 20 years of hygiene experience and some prior years of dental assisting, we are lucky to have such a gentle and qualified dental team member. Her attention to detail and enthusiasm to maintain high and current standards in the profession of periodontics are truly appreciated by her patients and dental team. Janet's practice in our office allows her to be able to spend valuable time with her children, at school and with their many activities. Janet and her husband Gavin have two daughters, Celine and Katie.

Kelly (Registered Dental Hygienist)

KellyKelly graduated from Camosun College in 2008 and brings to the office a fresh attitude and a passion for providing oral health care and education. After many years working in retail, she understands the importance of good customer care. Kelly prides herself in staying current with the latest research in preventative oral health care. Her professionalism and commitment is noticeably reflected in her positive attitude and delivery of care. Kelly is bilingual in both English and Vietnamese and enjoys travelling and spending time with her partner Brian and son Landon.

Marianne (Registered Dental Hygienist)

MarianneMarianne graduated from Cegep de l'Outaouais in Gatineau, Quebec in 2014, obtaining her dental hygiene diploma. Hailing from saint-Lin-Laurentides in the Laurentians, north of Montreal, she started her dental hygienist career in Gatineau, working for a number of family dental practices, before moving to Victoria with her partner. Both fans of snowboarding, hiking and trekking, camping and other outside activities, Marianne and her partner are delighted to now live in Victoria, after having slowly migrated west. Marianne's calm, gentle and easy-going manner has been welcomed by patients and the dental team. Marianne has just returned from her maternity leave. She and her partner Neil are now the proud parents of a son named Adam.

Tanya (Registered Dental Hygienist)

TanyaWe are grateful to have Tanya continue working with us on periodically (to cover holidays and sick leave). She is a graduate of the Camosun College Dental Hygiene Program (a classmate of our hygienists Kelly and Edita – clearly a great year!). Tanya strives for a positive patient experience and collaborative care plans for optimal health. In her time away from the dental chair, Tanya enjoys running, travelling and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Anne (Receptionist)

AnneAnne graduated in 1986 from the dental receptionist program at Malaspina University College. In 1997, she returned back to school to complete the dental assistant program. After assisting for a short time, Anne returned to the challenges of the front desk reception, and has worked on and off since that time for a few different dental offices. In Anne's spare time, Anne and her husband enjoy travelling, sailing, motorbike riding and spending time with their family – two adult daughters and a son, as well as three beautiful grandchildren, Cole, Gabrielle and Georgia. You will appreciate Anne's gentle demeanor and her thorough and efficient manner at the front desk. We are happy to have her with us.
